Getting Started
From Project Chanology - Toronto Division
Welcome to Anonymous Toronto. If you'd like to join our protests (globals or minis) and don't know where to start, this page is for you!
Below is a list of Do's, Don't's and other things of importance that you should know before you protest:
Contents |
Do:
- Cover your face. It doesn't have to be a Guy Fawkes mask, we welcome creativity, but if you're going for tradition we will direct you towards a store that sells them.
- Bring water and some food to keep hydrated and nourished.
- Be aware of the current Anonymous and Toronto Police relationship (elaborated upon further down).
- Bring cameras and other recording equipment. If you get in trouble, video evidence is extremely beneficial.
- Watch this video for other great tips on getting started: GLaDOS Anonymous Protest Training
- Spend some time browsing around the following sites:

Do Not:
- Do anything that will lead to possible Fair Gaming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Game_%28Scientology%29). This means you should use a fake name, cover your face, and keep all ID secured.
- Leave any relevant ID at home (ie. driving down without a driver's liscense), the police may detain you.
- Talk to the media without being knowledgable about what you're talking about.
- Do anything that will get you arrested.
- Provoke the Scientologists (they really enjoy playing the 'PITY' card).
Additional Notes:
The following will get you into trouble with the police:
- Protesting directly in front of the CoS building.
- Chalking on the sidewalk will result in a fine.
- Harassing any Scientologists (this includes verbal harassment).
- Not listening to law enforcement.
- Touching the "Church's" windows .
- Blocking the sidewalk.
- Blocking businesses (this will get you in trouble with the businesses, who will then address the police).
