Fliers and Literature
From Project Chanology - Toronto Division
Smokey the bear says: be prepared. Or something like that. You can prepare yourself for the next Anonymous protest by putting together your very own protest signs, and printing out mounds of anti-Scientology flyers for handing out or posting up along walls and billboards.
You can help improve this page! Add some of your own suggestions, and add links to PDFs of flyers, posters, and whatnot.

Flyers
Flyers are a very effective means of transmitting information to the public. Because flyers are meant to be handed out to passers-by, they can contain a lot more information than signs—but that information must be well structured and presented so that the reader's interest doesn't get lost.
The ideal flyer strikes a balance between being informative and catchy. Our collaboratively-designed from Feb 10th is a particularly good one; print out your own copies (50 minimum) to hand out on March 15th.
Photobucket - Plenty of flyers, images, and ideas.

Protest Handouts
When designing handouts and art, keep in mind printing resolution is 300dpi and not the 72dpi photoshop default. Be sure to download the Full Resolution copy for printing.

Also The Council of LRond has both these and others for everyone's use.

Posters
Sure, posters can get ripped down, but there's nothing that catches your attention like a row full of well-designed posters, all alike—just look at what happens to every plywood wall that goes up downtown when there's construction afoot. If you see a wall that already has posters on it, plaster your own posters over them. If you attend university or college, get a poster approved by your Student Association; you can get around a hundred posters stamped and allowed on many different bulletin boards around campus. Save extra, un-stamped posters to post elsewhere on campus.
Toronto Specific Recruitment Posters
- http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5C6BLHRH - Very high resolution 8.5" x 11" poster with bright eye-catching colours to draw attention.
Info-Tears
You can achieve extra win by creating a poster with tear-off tabs (example); save about 5cm of space at the bottom of your poster for a row of vertical tabs printed with website addresses that people can tear off.
Pile 'o posters from Boston wiki.
- Image:Scio1s1s.png - This is good for taping to random spots, as interested parties can 'tear' the info and Google at home.

Differences between Anon and Scientology
- Anonymous is fun. Scientologists are not fun and are super serious.
- Anonymous hasn't killed anyone ever. Scientology has.
- Anonymous spreads information. Scientology hides it and uses its army of lawyers to cover up its crimes.
- Anonymous spreads knowledge for free. Scientology will charge you increasingly ridiculous amounts of money for it.
- Anonymous is non-violent. Scientology has harassed and stalked critics.

To Whom It May Concern:
In the past week it has come to the attention of many individuals that the Church of Scientology is only in favour of free speech whenever it suits them. They tried to censor the Tom Cruise video but this was not accepted by many websites who, in spite of the "copyright infringement" claimed by the Church of Scientology, posted the video.
The group of individuals is collectively known as Anonymous. They are not an Internet hacker group. Anonymous is many individuals all working toward the common goal of bringing the crimes of Scientology to the public eye.
Do not mis-understand. The group of individuals collectively known as Anonymous is not against Scientology as a religious belief. We are against the corporate entity known as the Church of Scientology and the various affiliate organizations (RTC, W.I.S.E., etc) that have behaved illegally and badly towards the democratic governments of the world and towards their members. This is about Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Information.
The following are facts about Scientology. To find out about their religious beliefs, it is best to ask the Church of Scientology.

Libel and Slander (1995)
Summary: The Church of Scientology held a press conference on courthouse steps and had someone, in a barrister's gown, read from a speech prepared by the Church of Scientology in which they wanted to press charges against a Crown attorney who, they alleged, "had misled a judge and had breached orders sealing certain documents belonging to Scientology". The Church of Scientology was forced to pay over $500 000 in damages.

Theft and Breach of Trust (1996)
in which the Toronto Metropolitan Police, and the Ontario Provincial Police were, among other government agencies, targeted for theft.
"Between 1974 and 1976, Scientologists secured employment with government agencies perceived to be enemies of the Church, and signed oaths of secrecy as public officials. In breach of their oaths of office, they then took copies of confidential documents from the agencies that employed them and provided them to the Church of Scientology of Toronto. The appellant, Jacqueline Matz, was a "Case Officer" and "Director of Operations", and was responsible for supervising the agents who had been planted in the various government agencies and other organizations."
Further into the document: "An important event leading to the use of plants rather than more direct illegal means was the arrest of Alan Coulson and Michael Chornopesky [Scientologists] in April 1974. They were arrested while attempting to break into a law firm that was acting for former members of Scientology who were engaged in litigation with the Church."

The New York Times - How did the Church of Scientology get tax exemption status?
(Scientology's Puzzling Journey From Tax Rebel to Tax Exempt by Douglas Frantz)
The NYT says, "The full story of the turnabout by the I.R.S. has remained hidden behind taxpayer privacy laws for nearly four years. But an examination by The New York Times found that the exemption followed a series of unusual internal I.R.S. actions that came after an extraordinary campaign orchestrated by Scientology against the agency and people who work there. ... Throughout the battle, the agency's view was supported by the courts. Indeed, just a year before the agency reversal, the United States Claims Court had upheld the I.R.S. denial of an exemption to Scientology's Church of Spiritual Technology, which had been created to safeguard the writings and lectures of L. Ron Hubbard, the late science fiction writer whose preachings form the church's scripture. Among the reasons listed by the court for denying the exemption were the commercial character of much of Scientology, its virtually incomprehensible financial procedures and its scripturally based hostility to taxation."

A contractor installed an air conditioning unit in a Scientology building and waited for several months and was not paid the full amount shown on the invoice. Reported in Farmington Hills, Michigan, by Bill Gallagher (winner of a Peabody Award).

Scientologists fined in France (2002)
"A French court has fined the Paris branch of the Church of Scientology for data protection violation but acquitted it of attempted fraud and false advertising in connection with its efforts to recruit and keep members ... The conviction stemmed from a complaint by a former member who said he was bombarded with publicity materials even though he wished to end his membership."

Cover Story: The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power
(1991, by Richard Behar)
"By all appearances, Noah Lottick of Kingston, Pa., had been a normal, happy 24-year-old who was looking for his place in the world. On the day last June when his parents drove to New York City to claim his body, they were nearly catatonic with grief. The young Russian-studies scholar had jumped from a 10th-floor window of the Milford Plaza Hotel and bounced off the hood of a stretch limousine. When the police arrived, his fingers were still clutching $171 in cash, virtually the only money he hadn't yet turned over to the Church of Scientology, the self-help "philosophy" group he had discovered just seven months earlier."

Cult harassment, spying in Canada documented
(1980, by John Marshall)
"A large number of the Canadian or Canadian-related documents told of harassment of the McLean family of Sutton, Ont.-Eric and Nan McLean, their two sons and a daughter-in-law-all of whom had left Scientology. Some of the harassment, one Guardian leader's log says, was organized by the Toronto office. ... The files submitted to the court in Washington contained many reports of Scientology having agents in Better Business Bureau offices and of the acquisition of BBB documents critical of the cult's business practices with its clients. Among the court documents that had been seized from the U.S. headquarters of the cult was a report summarizing the contents of files on Scientology in both U.S. and Canadian BBBs. And as I have reported in the past, the files of the Edmonton bureau were stolen. Canadian public libraries have also lost books critical of Scientology and articles have been scissored out of their magazines. Files in various newspaper libraries have been rifled."
How have Scientologists behaved towards reporters and critics?
- Suppression of “trade secrets” appearing on the Internet and in newspapers. The Religious Technology Center owns the copyright for Scientology's teachings and they are always ready to enforce copyright law.
- A local FOX News reporter was confronted by a Scientologist who touched the reporter's microphone and refused to answer all of the reporter's questions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3SfSs18D1w
- Several critics have reported fliers being distributed to their neighbours. The fliers allege that the critic is a “religious bigot” even though the critics have only ever criticized or picketed the Church of Scientology.
