Derek Lee is a Liberal MP currently representing Scarborough - Rouge River in the House of Commons. He appears in a Scientology propaganda video praising its work in rehabilitating drug addicts. He has stated that there are "too many good people in that faith doing too many good things" to call it a cult. He even wants to bring Scientology into our prisons to "help" prisoners.
In response to critisms against the Church he has stated that: "I know there were some very difficult times 20 years. The Roman Catholic church had some difficult times back during the Inquisition -- and even now. I have assessed them as definitely a modern religious faith, for sure."
If you live in Lee's riding please try to arrange a meeting with your MP to show him the "religion" that he supports does 100 times more harm to the community than he realizes.
