Flash raid / Guerilla Flyering alert

A number of anons have decided to meet up on Yonge street to take part in a flyering campaign to compete with the spring/summer sales drive which began April 19th, 2008.

See the Mini Raids page for a listing of upcoming events and to sign yourself up (we like to have a rough idea of Anons so we can keep the police in the loop.) We typically meet at 9:30am in the park on Isabella, just east of Yonge street. If you plan to be masked WEAR YOUR MASK BEFORE YOU GET THERE and be careful as we have had definite OSA and private investigator activity. If possible, try to stay with at least one other person you know the entire time.

We are trying to maintain a presence for the duration of their sales day, so we are trying to implement shifts, so we can make this event last the whole day without people having to stay for 11-12 hours. So even if you can come for a few hours you might be giving an anon a very deserving break.

Bring flyers if you have them, and be prepared to talk to the public. We definitely engage the public much more during these campaigns so be prepared and be cordial and as approachable as you can be while wearing a mask.

See the Mini Raids page for moar details about the next Mini-Raid!

Global Protest October 18th, 2008

The next international Anonymous protest will be held on Saturday October 18th, 2008.

Pre-Protest Activities

Handing out flyers and information

Mini-Raids!

Set up groups of ~5 anons at Bloor/Yonge, Queen/Yonge Eaton Centre doors, Church/Wellesley, Union Station and or other high-traffic places (forget Bay street). The goal is to promote the June 14th protest and to make them aware about Scientology. Talking to Anonymous will make people remember. Other possible areas of recruitment include U of T, Ryerson, York U, and Seneca College

If you make your own posters, please add them to this page. More flyers are on the Operation Information section.

Putting up posters in public areas

Please put up posters in as many places as possible. The flyer and poster campaign to spread knowledge to the general public is now know as Operation Information

Write to Your MP

Write to your MP and let them know about the CoS' crimes and abuses, as well as their criminally convicted status. Question why they are still entitled to certain tax breaks (including the property tax of 696 Yonge Street) and are a Non-Profit Organization, even though they clearly are not!

This is especially important if you live in Scarborough-Rouge River as your MP is Derek Lee, a known CoS supporter.

Mark Holland, MP for Ajax-Pickering has a Facebook which he checks personally. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=771475155&ref=ts He's coool, so take it easy.

Cult not Religion!

Signs

  • Double sided signs can reach drivers on the road and people on the sidewalk at the same time.
  • Signs with bigger and thicker lettering can be read easier and from farther away. Use markers, not pens.
  • Keep the message short and simple.
  • Signs on poles are more visible.
  • Sandwich boards leave your hands free to hold fliers/etc.

See the Signs and slogans page for moar ideas.
